Overall, the presentation will be broken into three parts:

1. A status report on national legislation, state policy and utility offerings for community solar:We’ll discuss why community renewables programs are necessary to expand the market for solar energy, summarize which states and utilities have favorable policies, and discuss what is on the horizon for community solar.

2. A utility case study in community solar - We will discuss a successful utility-sponsored community solar program with an eye towards providing attendees with an overview of the program and an understanding of what factors were considered in designing a community solar program, what benefits the utility sees from offering the program, and what lessons have been learned during design, implementation and operation of the program.

3. A developer case study in community solar - We will discuss a successful developer-lead community solar program with an eye towards providing attendees with an overview of the program and an understanding of what factors were considered in designing the program, what benefits to the utility, developer and participants are resulting from the program, and what lessons have been learned during design, implementation and operation of the program.

The session will conclude with a question and answer session which will allow attendees to explore each of these areas in further detail based on attendee interest.
