Biographical Sketch: John Hoffner is manager of utility-scale solar PV projects at CH2M HILL, a global engineering company with 23,000 employees. From 1983 to 1996 he managed the Renewable Energy Division at Austin Electric Utility where he executing the City’s share of West Texas’ first utility-scale wind project, installed several large-scale PV plants, and negotiated a contract for a 5 MW landfill gas project. He is a registered professional Engineer, served on the City’s Resource Management Commission for 3 years, has taught NABCEP solar courses at Austin Community College, and hosts the “Shades of Green Energy” program on community radio KOOP FM.
