Biographical Sketch: Bill Brooks of Brooks Engineering has more than 22 years of experience designing, installing, and evaluating grid-connected PV systems. More than 5,000 installers and 5,000 inspectors have attended his courses throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has authored several widely used publications including the Expedited Permit Process for PV Systems. Actively involved in the developments of PV codes and standards including the California Fire Guidelines, and the National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 690 (Solar Photovoltaic Systems), Mr. Brooks was appointed to Code Making Panel 4 of the NEC in the fall of 2008. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina and California.
